Day 1 Getting to Morocco, dinner in Rabat.

Routine transit from home.  Twain Harte to SFO to Paris, 10 hour flight with a two hour layover and hook up with Scot and Janet, then a 3 hour flight to Casablanca.  Met our guide and driver, Mohammed and off to Rabat for dinner and the night at a riad, Morocco's style of B & B.

Coolish weather in Morocco, much warmer then Paris has been for our travel companions.  They had been in Paris for several days, cold and rainy, indeed snow was predicted tonight.  In Morocco, they are predicting 45 to 70 degrees the next few days.
Dinner is preceded by mint tea.  In this restaurant it is only poured from three feet up.  The waiter didn't miss a drop.
Our riad was inside the ancient walled medina, or shopping area.  This narrow streets have been lined by shops for over a thousand years.
The front door to the riad is just that, a front door, locked securely, nondescript.  But inside it is usually two to three stories with an open courtyard in the center.  More photos later.  This is a small side room where we had breakfast.  Very comfortable; small fire.
